COMMAND CENTER 2.0
Pattern Matcher™
Command Center's new analytical tool lets you scan stocks for classic chart patterns. If, for example, you're interested in the head-and-shoulders pattern, Pattern Matcher will display a list of stocks showing that pattern. Pattern Matcher can currently scan for 12 of the most widely recognized patterns.
Click on "Pattern Matcher" in Command Center 2.0 (under Trading Tools), choose a pattern, specify whether you want to see completed or emerging patterns, and define your criteria for price and time-period matching. You can also add filters, such as price range and average daily volume. You can even enter the symbol of a stock with a pattern you like and Pattern Matcher will attempt to find other securities that have established similar patterns.
STRATEGYDESK™
Portfolio Backtesting
This enhancement lets you backtest a strategy with a specific portfolio in mind to see how it might have fared in past markets. You test a list of symbols instead of testing each symbol independently. Initial capital is adjusted for profits and losses, and orders are placed only when cash is available. This feature lets you backtest within the constraints of a portfolio's value. By adjusting for gains and losses and skipping signals when cash isn't available, you may get a more accurate idea of how your strategies would have performed.
Access to real-time market data is conditioned on acceptance of the exchange agreements. Professional access differs and subscription fees may apply.
Results obtained from Pattern Matcher are based on historical data, but there is no guarantee the chart pattern will continue in the future.
Backtesting in StrategyDesk is the evaluation of a particular trading strategy using historical data. Results presented are hypothetical; they did not actually occur, and they may not take into consideration all transaction fees or taxes you would incur in an actual transaction. And just as past performance of a security does not guarantee future results, past performance of a strategy does not guarantee the strategy will be successful in the future. Results could vary significantly and losses could result. For a programmed trade to be automatically entered when the conditions you set are met, your computer must be on and StrategyDesk must be running. You are responsible for all orders entered in your account when a program trade you set is activated. Please make sure you keep sufficient funds or positions in your account to support program trades.
